Customer requirements for an efficient, environmentally-friendly wash
Located in the heart of the Alps, Delavay Sports is a major player in mountain bike hire in the region. With two well-established shops and a fleet of bikes in constant rotation, the company needed to adopt a high-performance washing solution to meet growing environmental requirements, exacerbated by periods of drought since 2023. Washing the bikes was becoming an arduous task that had to be carried out in compliance with strict environmental standards. Delavay Sports’ technical manager contacted X’Pertus to find a solution tailored to their specific needs.
Delavay Sports had no suitable equipment prior to X’Pertus’s involvement. The challenge was to design a bespoke carwash installation that could operate in a confined space and in close proximity to other businesses. At the same time, the station would be visible from the front of the shop, making it aesthetically pleasing.

To meet these challenges, X’Pertus has proposed the ATLANTIK® module, a complete, environmentally-friendly washing station. This innovative installation includes a self-supporting flexible retention tarpaulin (area), manufactured in France, with flip-up brackets and a shape memory that allows bicycles to pass through without having to lift them, making the operators’ work easier. As well as the retention tarpaulin, the station also includes a washing jib to hold the bikes in place and custom-made stainless steel protection panels.
These panels play a dual role: they protect against splashes of dirty water, ensuring the safety of employees and customers, and they add a discreet aesthetic touch that blends in perfectly with the shop’s environment.
But the innovation doesn’t stop there. The ATLANTIK® module is directly connected to a rainwater collection system set up by Delavay Sports. The rainwater is filtered and then used for washing using a cold-water high-pressure cleaner (NHP) with an organic detergent. After use, the water is recovered, filtered again, then sent via a pump to a hydrocarbon separator before being transferred to a 1,000-litre buffer tank.
This tank is equipped with UV lamps for optimum disinfection of the water, before passing it through a carbon filter and a cartridge filter, guaranteeing clean, recyclable water.The advantages of installing an ecological car wash with water recycling
